Episode 01: Space to Discover

On the surface, it seems like such a simple idea. Room and space to discover are meaningful aspects of faith. However, I get the impression that we want to present ourselves as already having the answers.

I think we can all agree that if we are going to grow the faith, we can’t expect everyone to enter through the front door. But, what if that means we must do more than inventing new ways to deliver word and sacrament? What if it means being vulnerable, admitting that we don’t have all the answers, openly sharing what faith is to us, and actually listening to what faith is to others?

I have this recurring thought that I can’t seem to get out of my head: The church needs outside influence and people more than people need the church. If we open up to others, the chances are that we’ll learn a thing or two along the way.

What do you think?
